Omnirota PDF Print

Having worked many years in the field of mobile robotics it is our experience that the most important and at the same time most complicated part of a robotics vehicle is the wheel module. Omnirota is a project where we try to design a weel module that is targeted towards mobile robotics.

The invention consist of a driven and steering wheel module, with a rotative part, giving a high flexibility of movement and optimal reduction of the forces needed, in application to many different way.

The wheel module can be simply and effectively controlled under the significantly varied field conditions in the form of water, frost, stones, mud, wheel slip and varying loads.

The developed wheel module can be purchased and mounted on a mobile robot platform in plug-and-play fashion. In this way, the robot developers can concentrate and target their efforts toward developing the implement and user interaction.

Examples of applications are:

  • Robots, automation
  • Rough terrain handling equipment
  • Nursing robots for agriculture and horticulture

The invention can be used in all kind of application where a large flexibility is required. Easy, quick and chip small robots can be produced in the fields of handling equipment, gartner, agriculture and horticulture
